This is another interesting topic in the Bengal Terracotta for which I have a great fascination. For the time being, I am gathering more information on this topic before writing a blog. During my little endeavour, I have managed to find some of the plaques on this topic.

While discussing the topic in FB, Shyamal Chatterji wrote@ Partha Sanyal- "To appreciate the boat scenes connected with Krishna Leela which you come across in terracotta temples, do read "Nouka Khanda' of Srikrishnakirtana' by Boru Chandidasa.
During a trip to Bishnupur,maritime historian and Institut de Chandernagore director Rila Mukherjee found four terracotta panels at the famous Jorebangla temple that depicted water scenes.There were boats with gunners brandishing muskets.It set her wondering why the Malla kings had artistes depicting water scenes on a temple situated in an arid area.
